Labour Estimating & Performance Review

Author

Gabriel Martinez Guzman

Background

Consider an established Ontario landscaping contractor experiencing recurring labour overruns on patio installations. Management knows that projects frequently require more labour than originally estimated, but cannot readily determine whether the discrepancies are widespread, concentrated among particular crews, or associated with specific site conditions.

The accompanying reports demonstrate how I use statistical methods to investigate performance discrepancies, assess relationships between operational factors and labour requirements, and translate findings into practical recommendations for management.
